Re: slip-on mufflers
I rebuilt a 79 GL1000 a few years back and the mufflers where shot. I did find some Harley mufflers on E-Bay that a guy had taken off is new bike for other types. They were like new and cheap, they looked good on the bike and sounded nice.

^^^That would be my suggestion, too. Check out your local Harley shops - just about everybody who buys a new Harley has the mufflers changed before even taking delivery, so most shops have a pile of unwanted, brand new ones laying around.

Re: slip-on mufflers
Just measure the outside of your pipes that will be the inside diameter.

Re: slip-on mufflers
The EMGO wide-mouth Dunstall mufflers look very similar to the stock Honda-style megaphone mufflers. They have a nice tone, have universal mounts, and are easy to re-pack the baffles when the time comes. I've had them on my Goldwing about 5-6 years and they are due to be re-packed, but the chrome is still shiny and they are solid.
