Raising Pasenger Pegs on 81 GL1100

Post by selahf »

Anyone have any elegant solutions to raising the passenger foot pegs on a GL1100? My wife is short and finds the bike uncomfortable because her feet don't quite reach the foot pegs. I know I can add a wooden block to make the pegs higher, but I am looking for something that looks better than the block on a kids bicycle pedals. Perhaps some way of mounting boards a couple inches higher....

I looked at my 83 Interstate and my suggestion would be to have a local welding shop maybe form some 1/4 steel kind if in an "S" pattern then use the existing mount holes on the bike. This would allow you to still get the side covers off.

I've installed universal pegs on the down tubes above the passenger foot pegs. Check out ,

Some may be too big to clamp on frame and clear the gas tank. Doug
