Need Parts
Does anyone know a good web-site to order parts from? I've used www.partzilla.com but their prices are high and don't have everything I need. Mike Nixon who rebuilt my carbs suggested saber-cycle com but now that I have $ to order they are out of stock on what I need!
Felling a bit frustrated with this project... any help & suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Need Parts
Depends if you want OEM parts or aftermarket. OEM try http://www.westernhonda.com/fiche_select.asp Aftermarket, search ebay. DO NOT order from sabre cycle.

Yeah you were lucky Saber was out of stock. What parts are you looking for? Perhaps we could be of help if we knew. There isn't one place that sells all parts.

Since you have the part number put the # in google.
The radiator hose--go to napa and get 7733. You can cut this hose to make both the upper and lower hose.

Saber Cycle is very well known as a seller of inferior quality parts that fail shortly after they are installed. They are also known for the absolute worst customer service you will ever encounter - if you dare to complain, you will be yelled at, called names, sworn at, and banned from doing business with them again. Have a read through peoples' experiences with them here: /Vendors/Saber-Cycle_880 - they have the lowest rating of any vendor on the site!swr1977 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 04, 2018 12:39 pmAs for OEM vrs aftermarket... As for OEM parts, I usually use Cyclemax: http://cyclemax.com/oem_parts - click on "OEM Honda Parts". You are ordering from Honda stock, so if it is not in stock, it means that it is not available from Honda anymore (or they are out of stock).

Re: Need Parts
I've had people complain the same thing (shipping cost). The fact is, that I (and Cyclemax) charge the actual shipping rate - we don't make profit on shipping (actually, it costs me more to ship items than I charge). We both use services that offer tracking, to protect us and you, which precludes using the cheapest method of shipping. The cost of shipping also just continues to increase. The average cost of shipping a 1 pound package to a US address for me has gone from $5.30 to $7.60 in the last four years. I also foot the bill for the cost of the packaging - I don't charge a "handling" fee for that, and I'm pretty sure Cyclemax doesn't either.Corkster52 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 7:21 am I like CycleMax, but, like you said, the shipping is pretty high, so I only use them when I have a relatively large number of items to order.
Other companies may charge less for shipping, but I guarantee that they bury the costs of shipping in higher markups on the items they sell. It's just like Amazon Prime: yes, you get free two-day shipping, but notice that the price of "Prime" eligible products are always higher than their non-Prime equivalents. Amazon isn't in the business of losing money.

I have always had great results ordering from Babbits. If they don't have it in stock, they get it quickly. Their prices for O.E.M. are great, shipping is reasonable, and the service is personal and superb.

Re: Need Parts
I didn't mean anything bad about Cyclemax, it just brings me to something I should be thinking about all of the time, "is this purchase the most practical use of my dollar?". Even though I reap the benefits of PRIME purchases, I very seldom purchase bike parts from them.

No, but when I went to shop by vehicle, the years only went back to 2005. Will take another look.redbug wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 3:05 pmJust at Babbits and they went back to 1977 on Honda for parts, were you looking for something specific?Corkster52 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 7:50 amWish they went back further than 2005.Alan_Hepburn wrote: ↑Sun Mar 04, 2018 4:06 pm I've only used them once, so far, but I had good luck at Babbitt's when I needed parts. Their pricing seems competitive, and shipping was quick.
