Counteract or Dyna Beads and Avon trike tire?

I'm getting ready to put a new tire on my 1999 gl 1500 se trike. I've never used the balancing beads. I know a lot of you good folks on here have used them. So in you alls honest opinion which would be better to use the Counteract or the Dyna Beads? Also has anyone used the Avon trike tire and if so whats your opinion on it as I'm leaning towards one.

ceramic beads are ceramic beads and it don't matter.

just dont use anything metal

I've been a happy customer for over eight years using the ceramic beads from Checkered Flag. After going to the balancing beads my tire wear is even across the front tire-no cupping on the left side at all.

I've used Dyna Beads for years. With my last tire change, I tried Counteract. No discernable difference in performance, once I take these tires off (which will be soon) I'll take some pictures of the insides to compare to the ones I took when I had Dyna Beads in them.

I have run both ceramic and metal balls to balance my wheels, both seemed to work equally well, but I had no TPMS to worry about. I slightly preferred the metal balls as everything seemed clean when I changed the tyres, the ceramic beads seem to generate a lot of fine dust as you use them and I didn't like how beat up they looked when it came time to change the tyre. The metal balls could clearly be re-used, but I had my doubts about reusing the ceramic beads (not that they are very expensive, so using a new set is always an option).. The downside to either of these solutions is it prevents the use of a tyre sealant (Slime, etc) inside your tyre!! If you have a tpms system in your wheel, I would suggest going for the ceramic beads as they tend to be smaller and lighter than the metal balls, and will do a lot less damage to the TPMS sensor if they where to hit it, Not sure what harm the fine dust from the ceramic beads might do to the sensor long term!!

Have a friend with an 1800 goldwing who recently put the avon trike tire on the front, reckons there is a big difference handling etc is better. wont ride on anything else now

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll try the Checkered Flag brand that minimac recommended as they are relatively cheap. I am going with the Avon trike tire also. I'll post my opinion after I've put a couple thousand miles on it. Thanks again. You all are what makes this the greatest site on the web.

Slime will destroy the balance of a good tire, even if it don't have beads inside.
the stuff just does NOT stay liquid....

got a lot of proof of that in my golf cart and lawn tractor tires.

When I bought my GL1500, the previous owner had used Slime on both tires. When I de-mounted the tires, it came out in gloppy blobs, not even close to liquid. It also made a huge mess on the tire changing machine, which took me a good half hour to clean up, not to mention the time involved in cleaning the sticky goo off of the rims. No wonder shops charge extra to change tires with Slime in them. I won't use that stuff.
