Hello everyone, I am thinking about adding a headlight modulator to my 97 gl1500se and want to know if anyone else has used one and if so what brand and do you like it?

You might want to take a quick look at this thread about headlight modulators.

I have the Kisan modulator mentioned in that thread, and it is a quality piece of equipment. I have had many people stop and comment to me that "my headlight is flashing" - so I know they're noticing it. And that's a good thing!

I personally wouldn't have a bike without one now.

For those of us in the UK, DON'T! Totally illegal; you will get pulled over very quickly and told the error of your ways!
'Impossible' is just a level of difficulty! The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask first!

( Seriously, you haven't read all 115 pages of my http://www.wingovations.com website ?? )

One day it will save your life . Remember how many drunk, senile, useless, drugged up idiots are out there. Have they seen you?..maybe, but with one of these they can"t miss you. Can"t have enough lights at the front and a brake flasher on the rear.

I use mine if a car pulls up at a junction on my side. Love watching them watching me go thro" the junction. They are legal here in Australia. Maybe check the act and section of the Road traffic Act in the UK. Maybe it doesn"t apply if the headlight doesn"t actually go out, only dims.

Another couple of points: only use it when you need too and only have it attached to your headlight.

When a car collides with a motorcycle the usual excuse from the car driver is "I didn"t see him" !!!!! You will come off second best and might survive.

I use a headlight and tailight modulators from JC Whitney.
Around $35.00 each.
I wouldn't ride without them.
