I am happy to report that my 'new' '76 LTD project is nearing completion. However, the upper shock bushings (and no doubt the lower ones, too) have hardened and turned brittle over the years and in this heat. When I started working on it I would occasionally notice white dust or 'crumbs' on the swing arm, muffler, etc. and finally figured out where it was coming from. They are S & W shocks. Any idears where I might find some bushings? Should I try contacting Progressive?
Thanks.

Re: Air Shock Question
Have a look on the US EBay, they have some full and partial bits for the S & W Shocks.

Re: Air Shock Question
That means that Autumn/Fall is coming for you guys. Our winters where I am are not too bad. We have had some frosts, but no white stuff that you have to shovel (ha, ha). The temps are relatively warm, like London's summer temps, so even in Winter we can get out for a ride.
How did you go with those shockers?

Re: Air Shock Question
Well, I searched ebay and there was no mention of bushings. Springs, etc and even NOS shock kits. I contacted Progressive, because there was speculation some time ago on other forums that S & W was either bought out by or morphed into Progressive. Got basically a non-answer from them.
It's not a problem at present, as I will be out of state for a few weeks. I'll revisit this later. Thanks, tho.

Re: Air Shock Question
If that lead did not work, then try Monroe as apparently made those S&W Shock absorbers back before Progressive came along and chewed them up.

Re: Air Shock Question
Have you tried a local muffler/shock shop? Take one of the shocks with you and see if they have any bushings that would fit. Maybe even do a little dumpster diving for taken off shocks-at least the bushings would be better than what you've got!

Re: Air Shock Question
Thanks for the suggestions. I am out of town for a spell, so my 'project' is on hold while I ride my Michigan Wing. It's tough, but....
