This is a “paint / detailing” question.
I have a 1983 Honda Goldwing 1100GL Intestate.
The clear-coat on the pin striping is flaking off, and I would like to remove all the pin striping and replace it with retro-reflective vinyl tape.
I read where you can use a heat gun to remove the pin striping, but will that have a negative effect on the fiberglass / paint?
Is there a different technique that should be used?

Re: Replacing pin striping
I believe the pin striping is covered up with a clear coat on the Goldwings, so you would have to first strip the clear coat before you could use heat to get the pin striping off - not an easy task.
