Raised Foot pegs

Post by barTman »

Hi all, has any one out there raised/mounted new foot pegs for the rear passenger on a GW1800?
Highway rules in our province state that the passenger must be able to touch the pegs, and I would like to have my Grandkids along for rides (they don't reach yet). I would be using a Buddy belt to secure them to me.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most helpful.
Cheers,
barTman

Hey BarTman what's a "buddy belt"? Is that like a seat belt? If so, I'd like to get one for my grandkids. Where can I get one, or is yours homemade?

Hi Maestro319,

I found the Buddy belt at this website... http://www.childridingbelt.com/enghome.htm they are a Canadian company, but with the NAFTA agreement there should be no issues with duties etc. getting them shipped to the USA.

The Buddy belt attaches to the smaller rider, then you attach part of the harness to yourself. The rider has a set of grips to hold onto to stabilize themselves instead of your jacket. Pretty slick system, can be used for the horseback riding, ATVing, snowmobiling etc.
