virgilmobile : If your looking at this http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Blueto ... ingdocs-20. I just ordered a set waiting for them to get here so I can try them out. When I ordered them they must have been on sale as only paid $89 plus shipping I will post on good or bad once I have had a chance to test them out. Hal

We've been using BlueTooth for bike to bike communications for about 4 years now. We love them.

Their are now several makes on the market and they're all fairly similar. The more you pay, the more options you get. Things like more connectivity with more devices (stereo, GPS, phone) or more riders. Range and battery life are improving too. Ours are good to about 500 meters. Some of the new ones claim up to 1 km. Batteries last about 5 to 6 hours if you run them constantly. You can stretch that out significantly if you switch to standby when not talking.

Advantages: light weight, self contained, clear communications, reasonable range.

Disadvantages: Can be costly, limited battery life if you do all day rides, not so good for half helmets.

Personally, I recommend them.

No point being pessimistic, wouldn't work anyway.

Thanks for the input.I don,t need a lot of options. Some tunes might be nice once in a while tho.I ride to ride and don't care if I get lost. That's half the fun, going where I've never been before.I'll go up that road just because it's there. If I kinda go In a big circle I'll get back sooner or later.

Actually, the only thing we use our communicators for is, well, for communicating. I could use it to connect to my cell phone, but when I'm on the bike why would I want to? As for music, I like the music my bike makes and the sounds of my surroundings. Music is too distracting for me.

We have been using the BT headset for a couple of months now. Really like being able to listen to music, answer cell and talk to passenger. I don't think I paid $80 for then on ebay .
