Well 1 month in the shop and $3000 lighter, I am finally picking up my bike this afternoon. Looking forward to many miles of trouble free driving (fingers crossed) Here is what I had done: head gaskets, carbs rebuilt, new water pump, timing belts, starter cleaned, choke cable, rear caliper rebuilt, forks polished to get some marks out and new seals, and a new exhaust front to back (plus new exhaust is 10lbs lighter then the original
When removing the head it was discovered at some point in the bikes life that the original head was replaced, the original head I believe was 4 valves per cylinder and the head that is on there now is 2 valves per cylinder, does going from 4 valves to 2 make any difference in performance? Is older wings a 2 valve system or 4?
Safe riding everyone!

I'm not aware that any wing is a 4 valve per cyl.

You may be right I am just going by what the guy that is doing the job is telling me lol I am novice at this myself. Maybe he was sniffing some gas or oil before I was chatting with him yesturday lol That is why I threw that out there to hopefully get some info about it. Thanks!

All Goldwings have always been 2 valves per cylinder. It would be quite a job to convert it to 4.
