Trunk light led's

Post by Shane_1 »

I have made my own trunk led tail and brake lights . Tail lights burn bright until I hit the brakes , then brake lights come on bright but tail lights dim down to almost nothing after releasing brake pedal . I have also found a .03 volt on the ground wires running back there . Anyone found voltage on rear light ground wires ?

Sounds like a high resistance ground. Try running a temp jumper from the frame to one of your new gound wires and see what happens.

Now you know it's a bad ground, you can trace the existing ground and find where the bad connection or dirty connector is. You could leave the replacement ground wire in place instead, but it will confuse a future owner who tries to find another problem. :)
