Stator help needed

Post by Oldnautique »

i cut the stator wires and tested voltage between the 3 legs. a-b b-c c-a
im getting about 64v, 64v and 40v.
I believe they should all have the same voltage with very little variation. Can someone confirm ?

By the way the Ohm reading is 1ohm each leg. no continuity to ground.

yup,

that stator is toast. all 3 legs need to be within 5-10 percent, preferably less than 5%

either have it rewound at a local starter/alternator shop ( cheapest and best )
or get a new OEM stator.

the aftermarket ones seem a bit iffy

Thanks. That’s what I thought
Problem is that is a new one I got from Randakks.
They sold me a defective one and said my test is not accurate. They refused exchange or refund. Stated that’s their policy in stators and regulators.

Randakk's is not the same company it once was before the acquisition in 2016.
