Is it a stock Weber carb?

Does it have the fuel cutoff solenoid? If so did, you make sure it has power?
Try adding two more wheels and a couple of doors.

I've not ever seen a Solex VW carb on a Goldwing. I think the Empi is a Chinese copy of the German Solex, however, it is not the same exact design. I think maybe the person asking the question inadvertently posted to the wrong group.

Realize it's been awhile but YES the EMPI is a Solex knockoff. I've been running one since last June and am quite happy with it after eliminating the air cutoff solenoid and tweaking the accelerator pump to let less fuel flow.
I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!

Hey. I am running a 34 pict-3 also, what size jets are you running in it and what did you do to the acceleration pump ?

Re: VW Type 1 EMPI 34 PICT-3 carburetor will not idle
It's adjusted to it's lowest setting. I'm running a 120 main, most people I've spoken with tend to go even lower than that, one guy has a 110 in his. At $6 each for jets expensive to swap them "Just to try it out" I've heard of people getting rid of the Pict 34 all together and going with a Pict 30/31 and having them run quite well. My only complaint is my mileage around town, it's horrid! On the highway i'm getting 40mpg.

I'm running a 142,5 in it because it kept blowing back, i am working on a new manifold and putting a 32 pict-3 on it instead
