Clarion II CB Module

Post by decatur61 »

I recently purchased a used Clarion Type II AM/FM, Intercom, and CB unit for my 1983 Honda GL1100A Aspencade. The new unit works well except that the fuse for the CB blows all of the time. I have traced the problem back to the "CB Module" which sits behind the fairing on the right side. I think the p/n is JC-209E. I have looked at Goldwingdocs.com and downloaded the installation manual which has the wiring diagram. I also looked at the complete parts manual but it is not listed there. Have checked several parts sites that offer Clarion products but have had no success. Does anyone have any info as to where I may get the CB Module and/or a service/parts manual for it so if I can't get another module, I may be able to repair the one now in my bike?

I wish I had it too. I've been looking for it for years. I know it exists, because the good people at Sierra-MC have one, which they use to repair the units (they're the only people who do repairs on them). But they are quite close-lipped about it and won't let information out about it - and I've tried. :)

Your best bet is to send it to Sierra and have them fix it - they will do it for a flat $100 fee.
