OK, I have learned that the breaks on the 83 where spec. to that year. Does anyone know what other things that I get to look foward too with this year.

You already know about the brakes - pretty well none of the brake parts (master cylinders, calipers, rotors, pads) are interchangeable with other models. The footpegs are different - they're flatter, and the passenger ones are adjustable, which was new in 83. The wheels are different. The suspension controls are unique to the 83. The choke lever is also unique, it was previously mounted on the triple tree. The LCD dash (if you have it on your Interstate) was new in 83. The front forks are different, as they had the TRAC anti-dive added. The transmission gearing (and I believe the rear drive gearing as well) were changed. The rear shocks had stronger springs in them. The seat was changed, and the rear trunk was moved higher and further back.

I believe that's all of the changes.
