Vetter windjammer side cover key

Post by OldGoldie »

I recently bought a vetter windjammer fairing and I’m realizing that to put the lowers on I will need to be able to unlock the right side cover. If it matters, it’s an 83 interstate but idk which year windjammer this is. I do not have the key I need to unlock it.

I bet it's a pretty easy to pick wafer lock.
DIY or take it to a locksmith.

Those wafer locks are exceedingly easy to open. They can be raked open with no skill required, and only a couple simple tools - a turning tool and a rake, both readily available. You can very likely make them yourself out of a couple of paper clips.

Double sided lock/key. I’ll see if I have any tools to try to pick it but I’m doubting it’s that easy

Search YouTube for Wafer lock picking. You'd be surprised just how easy it is to open them.
