Head's Up™ Voltage Monitor -- who has used one?

Post by FluffyDog6 »

Who has installed one of these Heads Up voltage monitor LEDs on a Goldwing 1500?

Where did you tap into for the voltage?

How long did it last?

Thanks.

I had one on my 2012 V-Strom, sold, that I took off and may have lying around. It works quite well, but I prefer a readout - analogue or digital. I put a digital voltage meter on my 1500 - since sold, but had it wired into a relay activated accessory fuse block. Used the Fuzeblock FZ1 because of space limitations.

this is what i installed. its cheapanese but totally encapsulated in plastic and so far has been waterproof. give it a quick glance and tell if you are charging by the green band is glowing. i connect to the accessory connection on the fuse block.

stylish, yet functional.

Mine failed after 2 months. It was intermittent from day one. It was a monthly contest prize.

I've had one on my GL1500 for over ten years, still works fine. It's connected to an accessory line that I ran up into the fairing to power a few different things, so it turns on and off with the bike.

Have used one on my last 3 bikes, starting 9 years ago.
Zero issues.
If only ALL factory-omitted essential indicators were this simple!

All are powered by ‘ignition-On’ wiring in each fairing.

Also running one on a ‘57 Allis-Chalmers.
