wing things-passenger footpegs

Post by Zappawing »

Does anyone know where I can get a rear passenger set footpegs for 82 naked gl 100.....I am looking for the original OEM style with all fittings vs the floorboard configuration.....(any aftermarket product universal fit will be fine)

someone has "borrowed" mine (the perils of not having a garage) .... with three other vintage wings in Town I suspect I may know who but he's 6ft4 and 260 pounds and 1/2 my age

thanks, folks

I checked the Vendor database and set it to Canada and looked through the various sites (some of the links are "broken" - seems like closed shops), and I managed to find one (sadly only one) at StraightWing:
https://www.straightwings.com/store/GL1 ... mount.html

Seems like both 1000 and 1100 models uses this so this might also help your search a bit :)

thanks in kind catman.......yes...difficult to find......looking for a full set of course but appreciate your efforts........one advantage of not having passenger pegs my buddy says is that I don't have to take my wife and her thirty-five friends for a ride!

best

Indeed one is not enough, but hopefully we will find you an extra (and some sort of lock nut!)

I know the feeling exactly as I just came down to my bike this morning - where the ignition switch was missing... I had matching locks (ignition and luggage), original key - and now - a freshly serviced bike that just stands there looking at me.
... they did not take my iPod Shuffle clipped on the vinyl cover that I forgot to take with me after riding Sunday.

Indeed I am; In the city itself, I wouldn't say that the roads are ideal - but surely driveable (some roads are pure potholes - and when there are roadwork the city just stops functioning) - but there are many great place in and around Copenhagen to ride to and some of the places have some amazing roads. A very popular route is to go from Copenhagen and follow the coast to Elsingnor - it's a short trip but can be really beautiful and along the way there are some nice and interesting locations including a fuel station dating back to 1936 and follows design elements from some of the furnitures that he designed:
Image
I often take a detour from the regular route and get to the small town of Taarbæk where you find "Taarbæk grafitti" as I call it: Many houses there have murals of birds - sometimes I go through Taarbæk one way and the forrest route the other way.

From Elsingor you can take some very scenic routes to Esrum and Fredensborg (which also includes a Royal palace) - and perhaps continue to Hillerød for an old Royal castle in the middle of the town and from their either go Viking towards west to Frederikssund, Roskilde and Lejre before headding back to Copenhagen. Down south there are also some great routes to the old harbour town of Køge. Along the way you can stop at an old air strip with the world's oldest wooden hangars (two of three remaining) dating back to 1917 further down the coastal road you will find a fortress from the same period (1916) as a coastal defense battery. Today it houses a World War I museum (Denmark was neutral during WWI, and managed to remain neutral, we were however active in humanitary work including facilitating POWs and exchange of same as well as we produced resources for both sides such as canned gullash). Short after you will get to Køge: South i of here you find another fortress housing a Cold War Museum and further down you find Præstø - with the lovely Hotel Frederiksminde: A wonderful place to rest before continuing to Møn and see the chalk cliffs (or to return to after seing them).

In Copenahgen itself - you rist to be stuck in traffic, but would recommend at least one ride through the city!
