Are speakers still good?

Post by mlkmn89 »

I just received new speakers for my 96 gl1500se. On one of the rear speakers the dome shaped center of the speaker was pushed in. I contacted the place I ordered these from and after seeing the pics I sent them they are replacing that speaker. My question is. If I can pop out the center dome in the speaker will the speaker be good or is it trashed do to the damage?

For a high fidelity speaker, it's going to make a difference. For on a motorcycle, probably not. However, it's going to be exposed to the outdoors, so I wouldn't trust it. You could end up with pinholes.

thats a dust shield that is glued in place. it keeps dust away from the voice coil piston.
