CB hand held mic
I don't have a headset for my CB on my 88 GL 1500. I know I have seen people do it before. Can I just hook up a 5 pin CB hand held mic to the plug for CB.

Won't work without a bunch of re-wiring. There's no "Push-to-Talk" connections in the Honda 5 pin DIN Headset plug.

What's the push button on the handle bars beside the clutch res for then. It says talk on it.DenverWinger wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 10:09 am Won't work without a bunch of re-wiring. There's no "Push-to-Talk" connections in the Honda 5 pin DIN Headset plug.

There was a J&M kit that let you retrofit a standard 5-pin microphone DIN plug to your bike and use the included PTT mic, but it's been out of production for years.
But it is possible to do, if you have a little bit of electrical background.

Thanks Scott. Not going thru that much trouble. I can still listen to it. Had a headset at one time a buddy made for me, but somewhere along the way it went on walk about.WingAdmin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 10:35 am There was a J&M kit that let you retrofit a standard 5-pin microphone DIN plug to your bike and use the included PTT mic, but it's been out of production for years.
