1800 mirrors on 1500

Post by Jonbarking3 »

I am wondering if anyone has put mirrors from 1800 on 1500 ?
Thinking the switchback lights in front of the mirrors would go good with rest of LEDs up front and add more lights. Please let me know any problems changing to these mirrors. Take Care

Well, they have completely different mounting systems, so you'd somehow have to adapt that. I think it would likely be much easier to just install lights into existing GL1500 mirrors.

Years ago I added lights to the forward side of my GL1500 mirrors. They were flexible strips from Add-On and were surprisingly nice at the time. I think there are better strips available today or perhaps use the three LED emergency vehicle lights like the Whelen TIR-3. Could even double up (fore and aft facing) under the mirror or one of their 180 degree lights under the mirror.

Show us some pix when you are done.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check them out. If I found something I will take a few pictures.

I do have LEDs on outside edge of mirrors like Kuryakyn has for 1800's that flash when signals are on so people beside us can hopefully see us better. A fellow made them for me over 20 years ago.

Adding something like this shouldn't be that hard.

I already have something like that on my 1500.
I was looking to add switchback LEDs to the forward facing sides on the mirrors like the 1800 have.
Change the lens to clear, etc.

But thanks for the thought.
