You might get a little better response if you told us which year and model of bike you're working on.

Do you mean right side when you are sitting on the bike? If so, I was just there last night on my 82 Standard.

The wire goes in to the headlight bucket. Remove the two screws that hold the headlight in and take the bulb out. The connector is red. Undo the connection and feed the wire through the back of the headlight bucket.

Here is where it gets a little tricky. The plug was too big to go through the space under the gauges.

I had to loosen the gauges (two 12mm nuts) and remove the air line that connects the front fork to get the plug through the hole. I then had enough room to wiggle it in there.

Good luck!
