Urgent Stop Use Directive - Pathfinder PAH60

Post by Navy Gator »

For everyone with a PAH60 installed

Please review and immediately follow the attached Stop Use Directive. It is urgent that you take these actions soonest.

This is a terrible situation for all concerned.

SoCal Motogear is fully engaged with those impacted and is working diligently to support them and our community.

For those of us that will be inconvenienced by having our PAH60 disconnected, I'm told that SCMG is working on a solution to get us back up and running safely and quickly.

I'm sure more info will be eventually forthcoming as SCMG works through this situation with those involved and our community as a whole.

For more info, go to www.socalmotogear.com/pah

I wonder if the problem was someone using those cheap Chinese fuses?

Notes SCMG asked to pass along.

All motocycles should be fully ridable while the PAH60 is disconnected, assuming all other aspects of the bike are fully functional. The exceptions are trikes and trailers with lighting connected via a PAH60.

If you bought your bike with a PAH60 already installed, please contact SoCal MotoGear at service@socalmotogear.com to ensure you receive any updates and support.

Update from SoCal Motogear

Date: 9/10/2024

SUBJECT: Immediately disconnect the PAH60 from the motorcycle battery until further notice.

Models: PAH60GW / PAH60GX / PAH60UN

Update: 9/10/2024

While our team is continuing to investigate the issue, which will take much longer than anticipated, we

will be sending out a simple-to-install inline fuse kit to ensure that all units are updated.

SoCalMotoGear will provide to responding customers, who have purchased a PAH60, a 40AMP inline

fuse kit. The kit is to be connected to the 14AWG power cable installed on the "RED" positive cable going

to the battery. Instructions will be included.

Currently, this kit is going into component selection, system testing, and install procedure development.

Once all the details are worked out and it successfully passes technical and installation process testing,

SoCalMotoGear will enter the manufacturing phase, and will begin to ship out the kits.

Estimated ship timeframe: 1-2 weeks

40 amps through a 14awg wire is just the kind of fire hazard I thought they were trying to fix?

Typically, a 14awg wire is good for 15 amps to a max of 25 amps depending on wire type and temperature rating.
