opinion on a valkyrie

Post by virgilmobile »

I've run the 1000,1100 and the 1200.Guy up the road has a 02 valkryie.It looks clean,new tires,no leaks etc,etc.He bought a 2010 interstate and wants 5700 for it.

Question...Any opinion about it?
Quality?ride-ability?problem prone? or is it just a different ride.

That sounds like a reasonable price to me. Considering that they aren't available any other way but used, grab it before someone else does. They're getting scarce, and Ive never heard anything bad about them. If I had the cash and the space, I'ld love one. Living in the city with no garage or yard prevents MBS.

Buy it, sneek it into the shed when she is out shopping, When she sees it tell her you are storing it in your shed for the guy down the street in exchange for you being able to use it when you like.... 8-)

And always remember..... it is easier to ask for and receive forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

If ya feel that ya gotta be sneeky about it, ya better save some room in the shed for a bed, mini fridge and a microwave. That could be yer new home.

The Honda Valkyrie is an offshoot of the GL1500 Goldwing. The engine is almost the same; but the Valk engine has 6 carbs, solid lifters and hotter cams. They are nice bikes and desirable by those who want a real 'Muscle' bike

Absolutely. You need to buy it before it disappears, and you'll forever be kicking yourself! I agree it's always easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission. Tell her it's an investment...at that price, anyway.

A cautionary note on the subject of buying the Valkyrie over the objection of your spouse -

An attorney expressed confidence in the US legal system. He felt that no woman could ever be found guilty of matrimonial homicide with a gun in Texas. She would be acting in self defence, unless she stopped to reload.

Well just as a precaution,I did put in a bar fridge, micro, and my own set of keys to the car. :D
I'm looking hard at it,and maybe keeping the 1200 for her to ride with me on.(like that's ever gonna happen now).

And littlebeaver , don't get your nickers in a twist,I'll be here. With all my junk and 2 cents worth of advice.I'm trying to figure out how I can keep 2 bikes.I just WANT the Valkryie!!! (sounds like a 3 year old)

I think the Valkyrie is the hottest looking motorcycle that Honda ever produced, and it was the deciding factor in my coming over from Harley to a Honda Goldwing, being that the bikes had basically the same engines (well, in my case a Rune and a GL1800). I just love those bikes. You need to buy it, or let someone here know where it is, because that price for an 02 is excellent, and probably still open to lower offers. I am still holding out for a Rune.....

Got back into biking while my wife was out of town. She was good about it. But I asked her about the next one and with her blessing am now back on a wing.
I love the look of a valkyrie. If you like your wife and the valkyrie....try and keep them both happy.
