handle bar shakes
I have a 1985 gl1200 aspencade and the handle bar shimmies and shakes like a bad speed wobble at times when decelerating. I just got this bike and have put 100 miles on it or so and it has happened only three times but I'm sure this is three times too many. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: handle bar shakes
Very common problem. Most frequent cause is cupped tires. Can also be caused by loose/worn steering head bearings.
First thing to try is to inflate your tires a bit higher than it states in the manual. I inflate mine 6 lbs over, and 10 lbs over if I'm going to be doing a long-distance trip with a load.
Also, keep your hands on the handgrips!
