This thread poses an interesting possibility. Everyone is invited to add a paragraph to construct a story that is built communally. You can add onluy one additional paragraph then must allow others to contribute. The only rule is the story must be internally continuous. Here is how it could begin.... I just made it up

Time gone by Camsell would have not cared that she was stranded. She would not have been annoyed that she was left to deal with this by herself. She would have just picked herself up and rose to the challenge. Now she could not. Or maybe she simply would not.

Camsell knew the new planet would be challenging . It lacked almost all the essentials and was chosen simply because of its location near the Xeronian Empire. Xeronians had been threatening devastation to Terra for the last decade and an outpost observatory was needed. Camsell had volunteered.

Lurching to port in a haze of exhaust and dust the ship settled with a shudder. There were only 25 on this transport and no one seemed in a rush to gather their gear and disembark into the warm dry atmosphere of their new home. Perhaps no one intended this to be anything but a temporary posting. The group was diverse enough to suggest no commonality among the passengers.

To be contin.
