Leg up - assist for old legs

Post by Hammer5150 »

I went for it. Not cheap but LEG UP (Owner: Pete) is worth it for us with weak legs. I was on LIPITOR and lost muscle. I got tired of falling over just sitting still. The only thing that it takes a little getting used to is when the wheels come down, it will pull the bike a little. I tend to use the manual operation and use the wheels after I come to a stop.

Leg up (Google it) is a good company and a pleasure to deal with. Good product and good people.
I recommend them highly.

I have the original landing gear system on a pristine 98 Aspy that is now for sale since I went to the trike setup..if interested PM me. It only has 35K miles, belts changed 6k miles ago, last year, new front and rear brakes same time, adjusted steering head bearing same time, fresh oil change and filter 200 mi ago. I will 2nd the fact that it is great in parking lots, around gas pumps, getting on and off especially if riding two up. I only use the manual function as I don't like the pull that can happen raising or lowering in motion. But that is just my opinion. It is actually great for 90% of the time that you want to use it.

Amen. The pull when moving is a bit scary for this old gut also. I use the manual and it is good for a bit of confidence when in tight places and slow turning.

Good luck selling your bike. It Iooks beautiful.

Sorry to sort of hijack the thread, but ...

I was on LIPITOR and lost muscle.
After having the same problem with Lipitor, the specialist then put me on Crestor - same result. Then he tried Lipidil and wasnt that a devastating adventure!!! I was overseas at the time, and run out of the pills, and stopped taking them. Started to improve about two weeks later. On return to Oz, i went back to the specialist who then started me on 6 x 1000 milligram fish oil per day (three in the morning with food, and three in the evening with food). That combined with walking the dogs for an hour a day, has helped considerably, so that my cholesterol levels are now in 'normal' ranges.

More recently, I started to take coconut oil, and that is also helping some of my conditions.

I trust that your muscle weakness is also transient, (usually called "neuropathy") and if you try the fish oil, please let me know how you get on.

Yes After taken Lipitor I too have weak legs. I think the docs get a kickback on it. I switched to Flax sea oil. Heard it was great. Wrong back to fish oil.

Thanks guys for affirming the LIPITOR poison. I have two friends I am trying to warn about this stuff.

I am getting stronger all the time. Heck, I'm 75. Probably will never be 100%.

With the leg up I hope to be riding the Gold Wing when I'm 80.

I wish you fellows complete recovery and a lot of rubber side down riding.

I've been taking "simvastatin". Is it the same as Lipitor?

I will also sell the one I have on my 98 1500 aspy...Have had a number of people interested in the bike, but they don't want the landing gear. I will take $1500 plus postage. I have not yet removed it from the bike, so if you want to see a video of it working (which is does), I can make that for you.
