Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
Hi Wingadmin, The firmware update on a 32 Gig MicroSD card is interesting information. How did you come by this? I have been using my 64 Gig MicroSD card and have had some issues, like bad/unreadable video files and my controller not turning off after riding. Pier28 help site said to try setting it back to factory and using it for a week or so and at first it was ok but then same issues cropped back up. They also said it might be the cable between controller and camera, but I have not asked for a replacement yet. Your 32 verses 64 MicroSD card when louding firmware updates are news to me but I'll give it a try. Thanks.

How I came by it was that I could not get the firmware to update from the 64GB card!Eboness wrote:Hi Wingadmin, The firmware update on a 32 Gig MicroSD card is interesting information. After I tried using the 32GB card and found that it worked, I looked online and found that other people had the same experience.
I think the difference is the formatting. There are specific instructions as to how the cards are to be formatted - I don't recall off the top of my head what they are now (and not somewhere I can easily look them up) but if the cards are not formatted correctly, you can have issues.

32GB cards are SDHC FAT32 (most compatible)
64GB cards are SDXC exFAT

Is there anyone around Kincardine Ontario that has put one of these on a GL 1800? May need some help.

I was told by tech support at BulletHD that the unit does not support exFAT and that it needs to be formatted with FAT32.

That's correct, you need to use a special 3rd party FAT32 formatter utility (can't use native Windows options) I can't find one that reliably works in Windows 10 though.vantage2 wrote:Pier28 wrote:32GB cards are SDHC FAT32 (most compatible)

32GB is the way to go for maximum compatibility and least amount of problems.

I use EASUS, works great.vantage2 wrote:... i found this software worked great in windows 7.. http://www.easeus.com/download/epmf-download.html ...download the free version.. you can also go to youtube and get a tutorial on how to download it and use it. it's worth a try.
If you have an older OS and have program incompatibilities, I've saved older EASUS's back to "EASEUS Partition Master Home 5.5.1.zip"
PM me if in need.

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
There is a firmware bug that could be causing problems. Please confirm your G-sensor is truly set OFF. (see problem below). G-sensor doesn't work well on motorcycles and I recommend to leave it off.
https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/b ... ost-249038
"While playing with the settings (via mobile app)I noticed there is a small bug in the iOS app, it sets the G-sensor level the wrong way round; if you select "off" it stores the value 0 which is actually "high" according to the comment in the (settings.txt) text file (on the microSD card), and video clips are stored with different filename stems when the motion sensor is triggered. You can set it to 3 (off) by manually editing the text file, or by selecting "high" in the app. "
The factory is aware of the problem so a new firmware update will be out at some point. (No ETA at this time)

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
Can someone tell me, if you don't want the video to loop and you turn it off. Does the camera then run as long as there is space on the card? By that I mean will it create one long extended recording? For instance I am going to ride say 5 hours. With loop off will the camera just record one video for the entire 5 hour Ride?

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
Yes but it's not recommend for that very reason. It only takes seconds to export a full single video using registratorviewer.zeke1883 wrote:Can someone tell me, if you don't want the video to loop and you turn it off. I don't care how quick it loads. I don't want a bunch of 15 minute videos necessarily.

You can certainly use it as needed for special occasions, but it's not its not recommended for set it and forget it daily DashCam DVR type usage.zeke1883 wrote:I don't care how quick it loads. I don't want a bunch of 15 minute videos necessarily.

I'm not sure which way to read this. It is, or is it, it's not?

Modify the settings.txt file on the memory card. Set LOOP_RECORD = 0FM-USA wrote:Needs punctuation.Pier28 wrote:You can certainly use it as needed for special occasions, but it's not its not recommended for set it and forget it daily DashCam DVR type usage.zeke1883 wrote:I don't care how quick it loads. I'm not sure which way to read this. It is, or is it, it's not?
(this will be a continuous recording, and once the card is full it will stop recording more)
Defaults =
VIDEO_TIME = 3 # (0=1mins, 1=2mins, 2=3mins,3=5mins,4=10mins,5=15mins) recording interval time
LOOP_RECORD = 1 # (0=off, 1=on)
Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
I wasn't being facetious or anything negative, I just wasn't sure.

Biker Mate?
Where can I buy the Biker Mate?
It's out of stock on the Bullet HD site.
I don't need the wifi stuff. I don't have a phone.

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
Does the Biker Mate have the same firmware updates as the Pro?
I get the feeling that this is a discontinued camera.
P.S. I just joined up on the Dashcam forum. Thanks for the link.
I didn't know they even existed before today.

Pier 28,
I just checked out your website and I don't see a listing for
any BulletHD cameras. I expected that the Biker Pro would
be there, but I don't see it.
Are you still selling these things?

Re: BulletHD Biker Pro Camera Review
Do they have one that records the front view as well as the rear view at the same time? That's what I would love to have.
