Stanley BC209 battery charger maintaner

Post by golden highway » Sun Jan 03, 2016 5:38 pm

I was in Walmart and found they had a Stanley BC209 battery charger maintainer for $20.00. The thrifty ( cheap ) part of me said look it is $14.00 dollars cheaper then the battery tender jr. I read the poorly written directions and connected it. The green light flashed and then stopped ha it works great. I went out to the garage later to find the reverse polarity light on. Double checked the connection and it was correct. Reconnected it and it clicked on and off repeatedly nonstop. Tried a different battery same thing. Checked online and guess what it is a bad unit like so many others. Drove a half hour back to Walmart, stood in line for 45 minutes to get my money back. While in line I ordered the battery tender plus from Amazon for $45.00 taxes and free shipping. Way cheaper than the $20.00 Stanley. I assume the battery tender plus will work as promised.

Well you have a ten year guarantee with it so that should say something.

I'm a firm believer in the Battery Tender Plus. Redbug is right....10 year warranty to boot. I've had mine for nearly 15 years and narrie a problem. I had it plugged into a VTX 1800 C from 8/04 through the time I sold it 05/15 and that VTX would start every time as if it had a new battery. I figured that there more than paid the difference between an el cheepo and the Battery Tender Plus.

I've also had the Deltran Battery Tender Jr. for several years now. No problems, works great, can leave charged for days or weeks if needed.
