I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
I have to share this with everyone!!! First, I have no interest in this and I am getting nothing for writing this. Admin, you need to do a review, you will be surprised. Ok, I ride a 1988 GL1500, my second one. It is my Daily Driver 100+ Miles a day more than 250 days a year ( I live in the Atlanta, Georgia Area). My radio get pretty poor reception, not sure why, but the Hum is so bad when I am along power lines that I have to turn it off. My Cassette deck works, but buying new cassettes is a waste of money when there are better options. I would love to listen to music on my daily ride, I would like to be able to listen to a conference call on my bike, Even make a call on my phone, like I could if I was in my car. I really hate the cord that my Helmet is plugged in to. I have to get gas every other day and I hate to have to unplug myself or take off my helmet to pump gas for 3 minutes, before I am back on the road. Any one else have these issues??? Well, I found the solution to it all, and for only $35. Yes, $35 not $295 like a Sena. I purchased a BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Motorcycle Intercom from GearBest, https://www.gearbest.com/motorcycle-par ... 64924.html , Amazon also sells them but for more money. Ok, why is this amazing and worthy of my time to write this. Well, it solved all the above problems and more. It installed in less than 5 minutes. I followed the simple directions and paired it by blue tooth to my IPhone 5s in 10 seconds, turned on my Amazon Music app via Amazon Prime and I had music in my helmet, In Stereo!!!!! So, next I had my wife call me and while listening to music, the music stopped and I could hear my phone ringing. I answered the phone and had crystal clear reception and My wife said I was super clear on her phone!!! I jumped on the bike and was going to take a quick spin and test out the music and the phone. Well, I made 4 calls, received 2 and listened to tunes for about 80 miles, just because I was enjoying it so much!!! I had the phone in my jacket pocket and could easily hit the home button and que, Siri. I would tell Siri to call whom ever and in a few second the phone was ringing. Everyone I called and the two who called me all said they had ne idea I was on my bike and I was so clear it was like I was right next to them. So, This is why I am sharing, because for $35 I fixed something that has been a MAJOR short coming of my wing and all wings. The is truly the best $35 I have spent on my wing ever!!!. Time will tell about the durability, and the miles I drive, I think it will prove itself quickly!

That is a great price!
Re: OMG!!! I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent!
I have a helmet that is a full face that opens to a half helmet. So with the helmet fully open and with the windshield vent fully opened and crusing at 70mph in traffic, no one knew I was on my bike...that is why I was so impressed!!! Music was super clear, the phone call was just as clear on my end and the person on the other end did not know I was on my bike blasting down the road! I had hoped Santa would bring me one of the $300 ones, but this is all I could ask for. I bought 2 more tonight, for my son and wife who both ride, you can intercom between three bikes up to 1000 meters, so I think this is the answer for all 3 of us, under 100 dollars!

I bought the same system and it worked so well between my bike and my wifes, i bought 2 more for my daughters to use, that is when i discovered this system only allows you to pair 3 units together maximum and you do NOT have group intercom, so you can only talk to one person at a time!! For me that was no good, but if you are riding by yourself or only with one other rider, these are just brilliant.. I fitted the units to our skiing helmets as my daughters usually bugger of and ski whilst my wife and I take a more scenic route, so only being able to talk with one person wont be an issue.
If they could add the group mode and have them pair with 3 other units, they would be a killer deal, as it is they are great value for money, but really limit you to just speaking with one other person.

That's a darn good price. However it looks like the controller unit with the orange button is connected to the speakers and mic. with a wire and does not blue tooth to them. so that would mean I can not mount the controller unit on the dash some place where I can see it unless it's connected with a wire. Might as well keep what I've got. !!

Ray, I think you have misunderstood, the controller bit (with the orange button) mounts on your helmet and it connects to your phone, GPS, or other control units via wireless Bluetooth. You don’t mount any part of this kit on your bike, it all mounts on your helmet.Rayvn wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 11:33 am That's a darn good price. Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
Shawn4245, , sounds like your helmet is similar to mine, open face/full face (if I'm not gonna smoke).
Your "review" of the BT-S2 sounds good, but does the mic get in your way when you close the helmet to "full-face" mode?
I'm thinking I can avoid any issues by placing the main controller back far enough so the long flexible mic cord puts that "big" microphone foam ball at the front edge of the cheek-pad without affecting the closing/locking mechanism of the helmet. The controller should probably be on the left side of the helmet so I can control all the buttons without taking my hand off the throttle. Is that close to how you've got yours installed??
Additionally, the literature says it can pair with two other units (3 total), if you can only talk to one other unit at a time, is there a way to "select" a different unit to speak to between conversations with the first unit you paired with??? Seems silly to advertise "three-unit-pairing" if you can only talk to one, , , ,right?

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
Bluethunder31, the picture makes the foam ball at the end of the microphone boom look large, it is about the size of a nickel and only about 1/2 inch thick, if that make sense. The boom it is on is very flexible and can be adjusted to any angle and to any fit. I have used it with both the face of my helmet up and closed. there is plenty of room for the boom with the helmet closed. The only issue that has developed since Sunday when I installed the unit is to remember to take my glasses off before I take my helmet off. The boom seems to catch them and knocks them off my head. Tonight I rode home with my helmet closed, it was a bit cold. I made two calls and as it as been, crystal clear and the person on the other side was surprised to hear I was on my bike. I have not used the intercom (Bike to Bike) feature yet. I have now purchased 2 more units for my wife and son. I usually only get to ride with one of them at a time, so I will have to see how it works with 2 or 3 units on a ride. It has truely been a great experience so far. I have ridden more than 400 miles in 2.5 days and I have enjoyed the stero music and more importantly the phone capabilities of the unit. I ride at 3:30 am-4 am and home again at close to 4pm and it is more than an hour each way, so having the ability to make calls will surely allow me to connect with people that I don't have time to talk to very often. It still is the best $35 I have spent!!!bluthundr31 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 5:35 pm Shawn4245, , sounds like your helmet is similar to mine, open face/full face (if I'm not gonna smoke).

Nice, thanks for the feedback Shawn, , ,
It was Thrashberg who did the "pairing" with multiple units so I hope he sees this and has some input. If you get yours before he gets back on here, would you mind reviewing the "procedure" for pairing multiple units and give some tips/hints?
This unit sounds like a REALLY solid add-on for the low cost. I'm impressed with the reviews so far, (despite a few "limitations" that aren't important to me).
Again, thanks for all the info you've given. . . much appreciated

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
As mentioned the intercom can pair with 2 other units, but there is no group mode, you can only speak with one person at a time. It is relatively easy to switch between the 2 other units that you have paired with, but you have to push the orange button to toggle between them, you cannot speak to both units at the same time. That was a real limitation for me. It means for me the unit is great when there are just 2 of you, but completely impractical if you are more than 2 people, for that I bought Sena 20s, far more expensive but allows group mode and up to 8 people in a group.

OK, thanks Gary, , ,
Your help/explanation is much appreciated, , ,
Sounds like it won't work well for a larger group, but for a couple buddies, or a small group its hard to beat.

Hi Gary. yes sir I do know that the unit is supposed to mount on your helmet. All I am saying is that is not where I would want to mount it. I would want it mounted on the motorcycle some where so I can see it and I don't have try and find buttons on the side of my helmet with gloves on.thrasherg wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2017 3:58 pmRay, I think you have misunderstood, the controller bit (with the orange button) mounts on your helmet and it connects to your phone, GPS, or other control units via wireless Bluetooth. If it does not bluetooth to the mic and speakers as well as your cell phone or audio source then it has to be connected via a wire and is useless to me and not any better then what I have already.

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
This product gets TWO THUMBS UP from me!! My unit was on "flash sale" for $29.99!! Great upgrade and good bang for my buck.
Easily mounts on the helmet, mine is an older modular Nolan Helmet, and connects easily with my iPhone for all of my iPhone "playlists". Sound is very good at 70+ on the freeways.
I've made phone calls and received phone calls on it and it is crystal clear. The other party had no idea I was flying down the freeway @ 70mph. When I had the helmet in "Full-face" mode, the caller said that i sounded louder but my voice seemed "deeper". It was probably because of the echo inside the helmet. "Open-face" mode was perfectly normal.
The large buttons are easy to feel even with gloves on. It seems to be a well constructed, well designed piece of technology for a small group of riders to keep in touch on day-rides.

Bluthunder31 - Glad you found the same things I found out. I have well over 1500 miles on mine and I LOVE it. I can not believe it took me this long to find it!!! I am mounting a charge port in my upper trunk, so when my bike is parked I can charge the unit. I find that about every 3-4 days I need to put in a good full charge. I make sure to turn ot off when I am not riding and more importantly turn off the blue tooth on my phone when not in use. It really kills the battery!!! Be safe and enjoy the new found freedom!!!

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
For me, I agreed with all his points, they are great intercoms and for the price you can’t beat it. However the only disappointment that I had which he never mentioned is the lack of a group intercom feature. On the Sena, if you are more than 2 riders you can all be linked together and talking together at the same time (something I use a lot when I go riding with my wife and daughters) but the BT2 only allows 2 riders to be linked together at any time, so you can only ever speak to 1 other person, if you want to talk to another person in your group then you have to disconnect with the current person and delink with the new person, that’s a lot of pushing the orange button and a large amount of distracted driving. If you only ever ride with one other rider then this is not an issue, but is something to be considered by anyone that rides in a group and wants to talk with multiple people at the same time.

Wow, what a spectacular deal!
I've been a dedicated Bluetooth user for over three years, currently using a SENA 10S. This device is almost 1/10th the price!! That's amazing!
Regarding the previous comments on the lack of group intercom, all of the descriptions on the web site clearly state that it's for rider and passenger, or bike to bike with ONE other bike, so their description is accurate. Two headsets can communicate together at one time.
I'm definitely passing this on to rider friends who don't yet use bluetooth.
And it's got stereo for music! Holy cow!

I just ordered one. I'll let everyone know how it works. I currently have a Torc helmet with built in Blue Tooth. I will be installing this set on my wife's helmet, and hopefully it will pair easily with the Torc.

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review
We've been using the BT-S2 for a while now and love it. BT to the phone and talk to my wife at the same time is really cool. We play music from the phone to the BT-S2 and it sounds great. Intercom is great also. Very clear and very little wind noise unlike the wired setup. Hooking it up to the Goldwing to use the CB is a pain in the ass and expensive, but it is doable and works equally great. Having no wires, well maybe the heated gear wires in cold weather, is really nice. Answering and making phone calls is also convenient when flying down the road. Don't find it near as distracting as wondering who called and was it important, especially when pulling off to the side of the road would be more dangerous than pushing a button and answering a call.
My wife follows me with the Life360 phone app when I am on a trip and if something doesn't look right, she will call me and make sure I'm ok. I have a few medical problems that she worries about. Yes, the BT-S2 has a few drawbacks, but for the cost, It works perfect for our needs. We highly recommend it. We hang our helmets on a hook in the utility room and plug in the charging wire every time we hang the helmets so the BT-S2 is fully charged every time we use our helmets. I've rode 12 hrs, listening to music and talking on the CB and phone and never had a low battery problem that I realized.

Like I said earlier, it works great, but pairing it and hooking it up in the correct order can be a pain in the ass. It is also not cheap, but it works. The Freewire is another way, but I understand it doesn't work with anything but Sena.

There is a YouTube video of a Sena "pairing" with the BT-S2 but I do not have a sena to verify this "first-hand". The video gives a decent "review" of the guy riding with his buddy and a camera.brian.peters wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2017 4:32 am Can this pair with a Sena?.
