Cordless Electric Impact Wrench Product Review (VIDEO)

Post by WingAdmin »

Sometimes when you have a stubborn fastener, only an impact wrench will do. I've had a pneumatic one for years, but it's annoying to have to start my compressor, wait for it to fill, drag out the hose, then use my pneumatic wrench that is usually FAR overpowered for what I need to do.

With the advent of cheap lithium ion battery technology and neodymium magnet motors, electric, cordless impact wrenches that have enough power to do the job are now a reality, and I've been meaning to pick one up for a while.

Here's my review on one that actually surprised me:

an Interesting looking model.

I have a Ryobi 18 volt One+ system 1/2 inch Impact Gun.

it easily handles all of the lug nuts on my truck and RV.

it has a 2 speed selector switch.

I like the lower speed that one has, but the Ryobi uses a smooth acting pressure slide/speed trigger....

My feeling is that the 440 lb.ft. is more related to breakaway torque than tightening torque.

Either way, I'd use it for loosening only. Hand torqueing to fasten

When I change tires on our car/truck, I use the Low Speed to put the lug nuts back on the wheels.
go around twice to be sure the wheel is centered, drop it to the ground, and grab the Torque Wrench set to 80 fl/lbs for the Pontiac...

the Truck is lots more, forget right now. 150??
