Good review, thank you.

I agree that it is unfortunate that it doesn't have auto power-on/off like the older models.

If you watch to the end of the video, I give an update after I talked to the manufacturer about some of my findings - they already fixed a couple of the problems, and the newest model already has the auto power on/off, so not an issue!

Nice review. FYI the latest K6 firmware update fixed auto power on and auto record when using usb power. A manual button press is no longer required. It wasn’t ready when you did your review.

Also this review is the bicycle version. If you buy the motorcycle version, it comes with a 3-wire hardwire kit power supply. (And is also automatic). Both versions support USB power. The Amazon listing is a variation and you’ll see the choices between bicycle or motorcycle version. Here’s a photo of the motorcycle version.

By reducing resolution each pixel on the sensor will be larger, improving low-light performance. Smart!

BUT!! Still no image stabilization. C’mon Innovv, this 2023. Read the FAQ’s on Innovv’s site – “The camera is shaking during riding”, “The video is blurry”. I don’t think you can buy an action camera today that doesn’t have stabilization. Why would a company make such an otherwise terrific camera and not give it the most important feature in 21st-century video? I’ll wait for the K12, thank you.

Does the software from INOVV allow a 360 degree video to be constructed from within their software given there are two cameras or is simply two seperate video files that are created. Thank you for the review!

No image stabilization for a camera in this price range is a deal-breaker.

The single channel INNOVV H5 helmet camera has EiS image stabilization. There is a Novatek technical limitation to get EiS working on a dual channel system. That limitation is expected to be overcome sometime in 2024 and EiS will be applied to next generation products. That’s the only reason EiS is missing. When the K5 was originally Designed innovv had aspirations to include EiS years ago for example.

Good review, I really enjoyed it. Does it have good stabilization? Would be nice to have quick release mounts for moving to different rides. Can't wait to use it!

I must have missed it; about how long of recording (hours/minutes) did you get to fit on the 256GB card?

They have a nice chart for the K5 but I don’t see one yet for the K6. I just asked the factory to send one and I’ll post it.

I have my K6 to start recording new files every 5 minutes. The front camera files (at 2560x1440) are between 520K and 530K. Oddly enough, the rear camera files (at 1920x1080) are about the same size. Strange - perhaps the same bitrate target setting is being used for both cameras?

In any case, it works out for both cameras to be almost exactly 1GB/minute, so for a 256 GB card it would capture 4.25 hours.

That way it should be It's more commonly known as 1440P resolution on the front camera and yes the rear camera is only 1080P did you not read the specs on their web side.

That's not my point. Of course I am aware of the camera resolutions. What I am pointing out is that even though the 1440P image contains 3.6M pixels and the 1080P image contains 2M pixels, both images are being encoded with the same target bitrate.

There nothing wrong with that as that helped the onboard hardware encoder and load balancing in this cases if a bitrate is the same this setup it should be in constant bit rate it's a little harder to get hardware encoders to behave properly on dual input encoder and one core chip because capture cards devices like with PC typically run into same problems like this with beta hardware boards I have tested for gaming and other purposes, Only work around for this is a multi core encoder on one chip then it should be able to handle the load.

i like my K6 but I have one issue with it-

Often when it powers on both the red and green light stay on.
I have to remove the SD card and replace it then the light will stay green-.

Anyone have a fix for this?
Thanks

Did you update the firmware? Did you try a different memory card?
