Will you be allowing any vendors at the gathering? I live in nearby Knoxville, TN and am a vendor at most GWRRA rallies east of the Mississippi. Many members have our 6x10 stock and custom motorcycle flags made for Gold Wing antennas and flagpoles.
As far as I am concerned, sure why not? I can't speak for MiWinger (the other organizer) and if you're looking to sell, which I don't have an issue with as long as you don't harass the riders, but new stuff is always a good thing to see.

I am not sure if it will be a profitable adventure for you, as attendance is 20 - 30 riders. This does not in any way speak for the Maggie Valley Conference Centre. I would think that pitching a "tent" for a vendor area would have to be cleared by them.

As far as riding goes, of course you are welcome!

Thank you for the reply. I also sell Gold Wing hats with the flags. I will have a booth at the GWRRA Wings over the Smokies rally Sep 26-28. Mark

We have several routes planned for the various day's rides. They are being verified and "massaged" to give us the best ride possible. This is also the stage in which any errors are discovered and corrected. It is a bit premature to release GPX files at this time but don't worry... they will be released in plenty of time for download to attendee's GPS's.

Bernie, as we get closer to the date of the trip Brian and I will release the gpx files we are creating. We hope to have multiple route of varying lengths. Some guys want to ride all day while others want shortened routes that can be a half day ride. All routes will be posted by the administrator well before the ride.

Bring your GPS and we can load it up at the motel, unless of course, you figure it out before hand. :)

Hi Brian,
Received my latest edition of RoadRunner mag and they had some ad pages on the NC area with this 'Ride the NC Smokies, Haywood County'. Check this link: https://visitncsmokies.com/wp-content/u ... le-PDF.pdf

May be something on here to add to your list of rides if all possibilities are not in concrete. The rides are listed with turn by turn directions.

Really looking forward to the gathering. I need to get my reservations in.
Em

Em, yes I saw that article. I too have a subscription - Road Runner IMHO is the best touring magazine, although I have yet to read a negative review on a product. Two years ago there was an issue with rides in Tennessee. Al is working on that route but the ride tends to be long (6+ hours) if we venture too far into TN. Extending the route to include Cherohala Pkwy would be an 8 hour ride. We are trying to keep the ride to 3 hours in the morning, stop for lunch and 3 hours back.

None-the-less, portions of those rides (NC) are incorporated into my routes.

Just a reminder....
If you are definitely coming or thinking of coming, make a reservation NOW! Rooms go very quickly in this area at this time of year. You can always cancel your reservation if you decide not to attend without penalty.

Don't forget you need to see Wheels through time museum. Very interesting. A lot of stuff you will never see anywhere else.

Look into a side trip to the Back Of The Dragon. IMHO, much better than the Tail. Unfortunately, I'm already booked for another rally the same week in Cooperstown,NY.

Great video; thanks for sharing. Looking forward to rides just like this on at this year's third gathering. Last 2 were fantastic and many thanks to the organizers who are putting in a ton of work.

That is a nice map. I wonder if you order one of those? I live I. Lyman SC so I am glad the meet is close so this map would be good for me for day rides.
