Post by biker4christ »

my gandfather passed on this week, cancer was caught too late  ,went to the funeral in tx.totealed a little over 1900 miles and the old 82 asp, did great, enen in 107 deg temps in tx,ran on average 80 + mph most of the time, was a sad reason for a trip but it all went well. average 40 mpg except in tx with a 40 mph headwind brought it down to 25 mpg,, its a trusty ol bike :)

Sorry to hear of the reason for your trip, but you're right - I took my 82 up to Toronto, around that area, and back home the weekend before last, rode a total of around 1200 miles all told, and it never missed a beat. I cruised home at around 75 mph, late Sunday night across I-90, it was quiet solitude accompanied by about 4,500 rpm. Just wonderful. These bikes are utterly dependable.
