Weather proofing trailer

Post by Wingrider73 »

Hi everyone:
I recently bought an older model pull-behind trailer and need to replace the weather seal between the top and bottom sections. The attached picture shows the seal that came on it. I don't know if this is the correct one because the previous owner used a lot of rubber and glue trying to stop water from entering the trailer body.

What do you all recommend and where can I order a new seal?
Thanks....
James

That edging is just to protect the edge. It is not a seal. You can get that type at a good industrial hardware store or McMaster Carr. There are also versions that do incorporate a rubber seal along with the push on edging. It all depends on how the lid was originally designed to seal, if it even was to being with.
