Hi All sad and Very Happy day, trade my 2012 which showed me a lot of trouble free miles and smiles in on a New Tour DCT air bag model. It's a big learning curve, as everything is different along with a lot of new features. So far I have around 500 miles and I must say I absolutely LOVE THIS BIKE. The 7 speed auto is butter smooth, and yes you can manually shift it with the buttons on the left handle bar if you want to race around and make the cool "Blip the throttle upon down shifts" by the way the new throaty exhaust note is very nice, not to loud just right. I've learned the Apple car play, Pandora music, GPS, Phone calls, Blue tooth to helmet and after learning I can say it all works very well. There is an issue with inputting addresses in the GPS that Honda is working on, with a software up date the will fix it. (Had a similar problem with the 2012 software update fix it and never had another problem). Going on a 12K ride this summer to stay tuned for update post. Added goodies so far- Honda Luggage rack, Trunk Wing/Brake light, XM Antenna, Tulsa Back rest.
See Ya

Re: NEW TOUR DTC AIR BAG IN THE GARAGE YEA
Hi all sorry it took so long to get this info out but here is the latest and greatest on the 2018 Goldwing DCT/Airbag. After taking delivery of the bike I set out to ride the four corners of the United States close to 14,000 miles. The bike was absolutely fantastic. When pulling over to take photos most of the turnaround and state parks are gravel roads can’t say enough for the Walk / forward and reverse worked flawless. I know there’s been a lot of negative comments on the new wing but until you actually get out and ride this Bike thousands of miles you cant really appreciate what Honda has done. I’ll give you a brief description riding through Flagstaff Arizona early in the morning I spot the new six cylinder BMW bike up a head of me I close the throttle click the switch on the right handlebar to switch into SPORT mode, which changes my horse power, brakes, and shift pattern of the transmission within two turns I catch the BMW and we have a good race through the mountains, I,m running it up to the redline and then getting out of the throttle and letting the transmission downshift by it self and then back up through the gears. The new automatic transmission did a perfect job I don’t think a human could shift better racing through the mountains in sport mode, the new wing eventually said bye-bye to the BMW. At that point I felt pretty good about the new Wing. Then there’s all of the other features that make this bike stand out from any other motorcycle. Like making a phone call at 70 miles an hour with your shield up and the people on the other end can hear you crystal-clear. Receiving texts while you’re going down the road and replying to the text works flawless. Radio selection, FM, SeriousXM, Pandora, iTunes through your Apple CarPlay, Choise of 2 GPS, Bike or Phone, all of these items we will not see on other motorcycles for a long long time . I felt that The Wing has more than adequate wind protection and with adjustable windshield work fantastic in the rain. I did 1 service Oil chane during the trip. That in itself is a huge compliment to the new Wing that you can go on a trip that long not having any mechanical issues other than doing a oil change. I rode in weather from 36 degrees to 114 and the Wing never let me down once. I,ll be the first I to say this bike isn’t for everyone, if your not good with Electronics, such as Blue tooth sync ect, also luggage is smaller, but I didn’t have an issue with it riding by myself, matter of fact I boxed some cloths and other items l took on the trip and sent them home I had enough room to do the trip . I don’t think it’s designed to ride two up and if that your thing you might want to look at a different bike or the Gen 2 Wing. But for people to say that the bike is a disaster, they are just simply clueless this bike is 30 years ahead of the industry it has that much technology built into it and it’s going to take the rest of the manufacture years to catch up and have the Technology that this new 2018 Wing has. Yes the GPS has a lot of issues, I just did the latest software update via Honda Powersports website everything went smoothly and the GPS seems to be working a lot better. A lot of what I’ve read in the complaint department‘s is simply a fact that people are not taking the Time to read the manuals or to actually get out there and play with the buttons and figure it out, they’re blaming the bike when it’s operator error I’ve seen this over and over again. I have to say after hearing a lot of the whining, I,m not commenting on everyone but some of the people out there whining I don’t think belong on a motorcycle I think they belong in a minivan that’s just my opinion. I've owned 7 Goldwings, starting with the 1985 Limited (Still wish I never sold the one) they've all been Great Bikes. But time and technology moves on and the new 2018 Wing is Honda'
s best yet. I can honestly say if someone said to me you can pick any motorcycle on the planet free of charge, I would pick the 2018 Goldwing I love the bike that much.
Hope this helps.
