GPS Update # 2 for 2018 & 19 Goldwing

Post by speedy1 »

Has anyone updated their GPS with the new update. I didn't do the first update, so I decided to do this one, but the numbers on my bike that come up do not match the ones listed on Honda's web page. After put the USB drive in and it boots up here are the numbers that are displayed
( thought they would be close even though I didn't do the first)
HG ACM 17 11 10 07 03 52 to 18 11 29 08 16 00

According to the web page these should be the numbers 18 04 28 08 08 01(the numbers for the first update) TO 18 04 28 08 08 02 the
new up date.
Any information will be appreciated

Did the first one in October, just did the second one. they said it wouldn't affect the radio and XM presets-BS! Both updates wiped out all the XM presets. AM/FM appear to be unaffected. I hope they did more than just increase the allowed number of waypoints-like pick up where you are, not keep directing you back to the last missed waypoint!! or the starting point. Too much to hope for, but wish they would allow you to stop guidance on the fly.
Anyone tried the new update on the road?

FYI, if you down load it via Firefox/ Mozilla, it puts a (1) in the name. Delete this (1) on your USB or the bike won't recognize it. just send as swdl to your flash drive, not swdl(1).iso

Thanks for the information. I knew about Firefox putting the 1 in the file name, so I made sure it didn't have it. Honda called me back today and we discussed what was showing and all that I had done. He didn't understand either, but told me to run it anyway and if it didn't work they would fix it. Long story short it worked fine, just had to re pair everything.
Thanks again

You had to re-pair your phone, helmet speakers, etc?

Yes you are right, just the phone and helmet speakers. I do not use car play. I have an android galaxy s8+ and Packtalk Bold head set.

Does anyone have a copy of the latest update file up on Google drive or Microsoft Onedrive? I need a copy but
can't get one from Honda's web site. Appears the download is broken. Would really appreciate a link to download
the file. Thanks.
