Elite 4's on a 2018?

Dealership offered me a great deal on a set of Elite 4's. Thoughts?

He hasn't given me a price, just said I wouldn't believe how low it would be-we'll see. before I even talked to him about it just wanted other people's opinion on the tires themselves on the 2018.

I bought mine from wingstuff. My dealer said they could not get close to that price.

I don't see the Elite 4's come in appropriate size for rear 200/55R16

I ordered mine, in Canada, from Fortnine in Montreal. $536 for front and rear including taxes and eco disposal fee. Pete's Superbike lists the rear for $451, and the front for $300. Fortnine saved me about $250 or so. I would imagine Wingstuff will be about the same or maybe even a bit better for U.S. buyers. Their shipping to Canada costs kill any savings for us. No need to worry about old manufacture dates on these tires as they have not been on the market long enough to have stale ones.

Avon's new Cobra Chrome tires are beginning to look as if they might be okay. Built a bit better for our weight bikes than the Cobra Venoms were. Has anyone tried them yet?

No... in that size, they had the Dunlop D423 Honda Goldwing Rear Tire specifically for 2018 and newer Goldwings. $301. It looks to be a pretty fat tire. That being the case, I do not believe I would put a Dunlop Elite 4 on your bike unless it was in that size. Your rim is probably wider than earlier model wings. What I wonder is - what is your dealer thinking if they do not have the right size for the bike?

According to the Dunlop web site, they only offer your rear in the D423, and the front is a D423F but is the same 130/70-R18 size as the rest of the GL1800s. Your rim is 6" wide. There is a 250/40-R16 tire in the Elite 4 line. I wonder what it goes on.
