TPMS- again

Post by Redwing822 »

TPMS light on from day one. Haven’t found a dealer who can or is willing to fix it. Common problem?

mine was on when I picked it up, found out you need to air the tires down to a quite low pressure then to bring them back to normal operating pressure. It corrected my issue and the only time they came back on was when the tires were low. Dealer said it was written up in service manual.

A 2018 is under warranty, the dealer is obligated to fix it. Find the Honda customer service # in your owners manual and give them a call.

Remove the sensors, unhook the system. Put RideOn in the tires and enjoy a smoother ride while having puncture protection!

Service for sure but you can google the procedure as there are several videos on how to do it. It's pretty quick and easy

Tried this procedure, both with ignition on and off. Made no difference; must have a different problem. Thanks for posting it nonetheless..

I am having the same issue with my TPMS this may turn out be be one of Honda's down faults its seems theres no way to adjust the wheel sensors there preset from the factory and installed i the rim not so good if you use balancing beads or other types of TPMS monitors. The dealers cant even adjust them thats sad I did some research was able to find a reprogrammer for the wheel sensors but the cost is about 250.00 bucks on Amazon. Don't want to spend that much on one wheel. I am a Darksider rear wheel only and my tire pressure need to be a lot lower then the pressure recommended by
Honda for me to get the mileage longevity out of the tire. So i use a piece of black tape it working for me now and ill figure the rest out later. Ride Safe Ride a lot.

Check the direction of the sensors. I had my tires replaced and one of the sensors was turned around. I could get it to work with the tool to set the sensor but it would show no connection after a short distance. It was explained to me that a giro was inside the sender and it had to be aimed in the proper direction for it to work.

Still seems to be a problem Honda has the tire pressure set were they want it not us and there's no way to correct this at the present time. Many are working on this small problem and maybe a fix will be here before we know I backed off due to Christmas this year but hope to get back to work on it after the holiday season. Using FoBo 2 now just to keep and eye on my pressure and tire temperature working great for now someone will come out with something to help with this issue.

If the TPMS is installed 180 degrees out of phase the light will come on after a few miles.

This sounds like it may be my problem. I can disconnect my battery, then take it out for a ride. The lights flash briefly as communication seems to be establishing with each sensor, then lights go out. After about 8 miles, TPMS illuminates again.
