Close topbox goldwing 2019

I have a goldwing GL1800 2019.
When I close the topbox the display continuos shows the topbox is open but it is closed
What could be the problem ?

If I try and slam mine shut it will catch but wont clear the open notification. If I just close it with a simple press on the top of the lid, click,,, the light goes out and all's good.

Having same problem on my 2010, it will close and latch, but flashing notification never ceases... can we disable sensor or something???

J’ai rencontré, je pense, le même problème.
Mes constats étaient les suivants :
- Moto démarrée
o Difficulté pour obtenir la fermeture du coffre et donc l’extinction de l’alerte sur le tableau de bord
o Difficulté pour ouvrir la valise gauche
- Moto éteinte
o Difficulté pour ouvrir la valise gauche
o A l’éloignement de la Smartkey, le verrouillage électrique du coffre et des valises ne s’effectuait pas

La pièce référence 81465MKCA01 Ens. Loquet gauche sacoche de selle a été changée et mes problèmes ont été résolus.
La pièce a été remplacée au titre de la garantie.
Cette pièce à une incidence sur tous les ouvrants (valises et coffre).
La même pièce existe pour le côté droit de la moto sous la référence 81365MKCA01.

Difficile pour ce qui concerne ta moto de dire si une des deux pièces ou les deux sont défaillantes. Ton concessionnaire mis sur cette piste pourra sans doute le confirmer ou l’infirmer.

Cette expérience a mis en lumière un défaut de conception sur cette moto (GL 1800 SC79). Le verrouillage électrique à l’éloignement de la Smartkey des coffres et valise n’est pas confirmé par un signal visuel ou sonore.

I encountered the same problem, I think.
My findings were as follows:
- Motorcycle started
o Difficulty obtaining the closing of the trunk and therefore the extinction of the alert on the dashboard
o Difficulty opening the left case
- Motorcycle off
o Difficulty opening the left case
o When moving away from the Smartkey, the electric locking of the trunk and of the suitcases did not take place



Part reference 81465MKCA01 HONDA - CATCH ASSY., L. SADD has been changed and my problems have been resolved.
The part has been replaced under warranty.
This part affects all openings (suitcases and trunk).
The same part exists for the right side of the motorcycle under the reference 81365MKCA01.

Difficult as regards your motorcycle to say if one of the two parts or both fail. Your dealer on this track can probably confirm or deny it.

This experience brought to light a design flaw on this motorcycle (GL 1800 SC79). The electrical locking, by moving the Smartkey away, of the trunks and suitcase is not confirmed by a visual or audible signal.

I had a similar problem with my 2012 a while back. Turned out that the wire loop on the trunk lid that holds the lid closed was loose. They call it a "trunk striker" in the parts diagrams, and it looks like it is the same thing for the 2018 . It wasn't loose enough to keep the trunk release from working, but it was loose enough to let the striker rock forward so that it wouldn't engage the sensor. I tightened the screws that hold the striker to the lid and everything was happy again. Given that the screws go into plastic I fully expect it to come loose again and the same problem to show up, so I should probably find something like loctite that will work with the plastic.

you need to open the lid, loosen the screws holding the latch on the top of the lid, pull it out the whole way, tighten it....mine stopped doing this after this simple maneuver.

This is a problem Honda has with its tubber wear on most of it new electronic door and trunk openers. In may case I did bring it back to my dealer for repairs. But you still have be careful not to over load your stuff and keep everything tight and not block the laches still happens to this day. Ride safe Ride A Lot.
