Apple iMac and Honda Software Update Issue.
After a few hours of wasted effort I wanted to share some things I learned for those that use an Apple iMAC for doing the Honda Goldwing Software Update.
I found that Apple will save older versions of the Honda Goldwing Software. In my case from May 2019. When I download the recent Honda Goldwing Software (Which has the same name of the 2019 version) Apple changes the software name and adds a number to the name.
2019 Version Name
swdl.iso
2020 / 2020 Version Name
swdl-2.iso
If you miss this the software update moved to the USB jump drive will not be recongnized by your 2018+ Honda Goldwing.
I corrected the issue by searching for all files with swdl.iso and deleted them off my Apple iMac and also erased and reformatted the USB jump drive,
The attached photos show the details.

Re: Apple iMac and Honda Software Update Issue.
Hi FloridaBrent
I haven't got my 2020 Wing yet (due 18th August), but am a long time Apple MacBook user.
The reason for the addition of the number to the 2020 software file is that the 2019 and the 2020 files were originally the same name, so Apple adds the "-2" to differentiate.
Did it ask if you wanted to replace the old file when you tried to download it?
You may have clicked "no", so that you still had the old file in case something went wrong. So therefore, your Mac downloaded and saved the file with the "-2" suffix
You could have moved the old file to an external device such as a usb stick (thumb drive), so that the new file would have been downloaded without the "-2" suffix. I think that may have got around the problem you experienced.
Do you know when the 2020 software update was issued?
Is it for Engine Management, for the Nav, or something else?
I'm wondering if my 2020 Wing will need the update (although it may have received the update during servicing).

There is at least one engine management update at 2001 for the DCT. Not sure if that is a user update or dealer only.
