Anyone Rode a 2018/19 and a 2021DCT?
Hi Guy’s, here in the UK I’m trying to ask anyone who’s ridden a 2018/19 Goldwing DCT and also a the new 2021 DCT and found that the low speed ‘jerking’ had been reduced or eliminated?

From what I have been reading, that was modified quite a bit in 2019.
the 2020 version seems to have smoothed out all the wrinkles.
the folks who have been buying the 2021 version are all giving glowing reports on it.
Tour Mode seems to be lackadaisical on take off for those wanting to "get there now".
but is a very pleasant experience for those who have Rheumatoid Arthritis, allowing them to be able to ride again without having to use the Clutch Lever, which is now impossible for most of those suffering that disease.
Sport Mode takes care of that problem, one poster related it to a "jack rabbit" beating all the horses out of the Gate.
The last report that I saw last night, the new owner ( 6' 3" ) decided to not get the Trunk package, as he never has a passenger with him, and his tours are "go light on clothing".... he stays out for weeks at a time, fresh out of the military and retired.... he wants to see the world at his leisure, not the military's version

Re: Anyone Rode a 2018/19 and a 2021DCT?
Hi John, earlier this morning had my first meeting with a group of mature motorcyclists one of whom has recently bought a 2021 DCT Bagger, prior to buying the bike he did road test a 2019 DCT model and noted the slow speed jerking however today he was able to tell me that there was no such juddering on his 2021.
So having learnt this I’m trying to find out exactly what Honda have done to eradicate the juddering problem which is the only problem which is ruining a very expensive and excellent bike for me.
Have any of you guys over there any information to help?

I believe there was a 2020 software update to correct a few things, and it can be applied to the earlier bikes, too.

Since my OP, I contacted a Honda Goldwing dealer who had a 2021 DCT Tour demonstrator who allowed me a test ride, I rode the 100 miles each way where I found the 2021 bike a completely different bike to my 2019 there was no jerking I get on my bike when you slow down to either stop or negotiate a junction or the like, what has Honda done to this bike to stop the jerkin?

Ask your dealer about a software update. No idea if this applies to the European versions.Mick1836 wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 2:10 am Since my OP, I contacted a Honda Goldwing dealer who had a 2021 DCT Tour demonstrator who allowed me a test ride, I rode the 100 miles each way where I found the 2021 bike a completely different bike to my 2019 there was no jerking I get on my bike when you slow down to either stop or negotiate a junction or the like, what has Honda done to this bike to stop the jerkin?

HME have suggested to my dealer to do an ECU and DCT reset using the Honda Diagnostics Computer and to use only Honda 10W/30 in your bike.
This will be done soon during its 12 month 8,000 mile service even though the bike has only done 3,500 miles

Re: Anyone Rode a 2018/19 and a 2021DCT?
I rode an '18 DCT bagger that a friend who owns a bike shop had brought home. I did not experience any shuddering at all so it must have the software update. I liked it so much I now have my '16 on the market so I can purchase a '21 when it comes in in July.
From now on, I only do shorter rides so I'm going with the DCT bagger. My wife (or anyone else) has never sat in the rear set of my '16 so I don't need it or the trunk. I really like the transmission and the front suspension plus now I'll be able to bluetooth to apple carplay without all the extra gizmos. I thought my '16 was quiet but this is SILENT. The windscreen provided excellent protection and being electric no more struggling to change the windshield height (I still haven't figured it out).
