What would a fair price be for the new 2021 with or with out airbag.
Thanks for your help.

Even though you joined eight years ago, since this is your first post, welcome to the forum.

While I have not personally been actively shopping, most posts I have seen indicate that Honda dealers are holding retail (plus shipping and setup) on the 2021 models. There is a low inventory and solid demand. IMHO, best you could expect is getting them to drop the documentation fee or a reduced price on accessory installation. Otherwise, if price is a factor, look for a 2018-2020 model (new or used).

Thanks Last time I bought new was a truck and found out after I could have gotten it for a grand or two less and I thought I got them down a lot.
I need too bite the bullet. cycle trader has a 2021or 27500 only 6 miles no dealer fees.
Thanks again

Whatever the market will bear in your area.
Around me they are in short supply and it shows in the price. A year or so ago they were gathering dust on the dealers showrooms and heavily marked down.

I'm not sure because prices sometimes depend on your location. You may want to consult a dealer store nearby for an accurate answer.

Across the pond in the UK there seems to be a severe shortage of new GW’s anywhere. I imagine you can place an order but exactly what delivery is I don’t know. Only one dealer seems to have any (and I mean literally one or two) leftover 2019’s and they are slightly discounted but not by much. If you want one you have to pay I guess. Used prices seem very strong to me.

well I guess is good and bad. Good that it's a well built machine and in demand and bad that I have to pay that price. Main point was to not over pay.
thanks

Yea sorry, forgot to add, looking at around £21k in the UK which I think is around $29k US (for the leftover 2019 base model manual GW). Might be able to haggle a bit on a brand new 2021 but they are around £23-24k (again base GW manual). Looking at lack of availability though I wouldn’t hold your breath on any discounts.

It's even worse in the automotive world - plenty of buyers, dealers can't provide the vehicles for them to buy.

The market is crazy, and if one could possibly hold off about a year (that is, if you already have a bike...) the market could change more toward a buyer's market.

Then again, it could get worse.

You're in Florida - bad to say this, but troll some of the used markets for people wanting to sell a lightly used machine. There are people wanting to get rid of them, due to a myriad of reasons.

Luck to ya!

I just got a quote from a local Honda Dealer for the 2021 Goldwing DCT Automatic for $26,100 which includes delivery, prep and documentation. The Tour model which has all the bells and whistles, mainly heated seat, center stand and air bag is about 10 grand more.

The dealer are not dealing here in California. Full price. Take it or leave it. Just bought a 2021 bagger. Don't let them get you with extended warranty. My dealer wanted to charge me 1600 for a third party warranty. (Roseville Honda) bought one from different dealer 4 years on top of three year 600.

I bought a 2021 bagger dct from Greater Boston Motorsports and it looks the same as yours. I'm almost embarrassed to tell the deal I got but I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Got a great trade-in and they knocked a grand off the list price and installed an SAE battery tender connector. I couldn't ride it for several weeks due to an infection in my right thigh and then was away for three weeks but I'm on it now. Hit 300 mi today. I'm really impressed with the double wishbone front end, the DCT, the electric windshield that actually works and everything else. As usual, the Japanese just don't get American logic when it comes to creature comfort and ease of use for the electronics. They have to hide everything under layers and layers, but I'm figuring it out with the help of the less than helpful owners manual (not even an index!). I plan on adding a back rest and possibly a center stand that cycle max has on their site.

I added center stand I feel is a must. I added trickle charger. Fog lights and gold strike highway pegs.. the best improvement that I highly recommend is sending seat to bike solutions. They are in Texas. Cheaper than a Corbin , and leaves original look think I have around 1500 miles on so far.
My complaint is I can't seem to get in Sena 20s to make good or receive phone calls radio comes in clear

The GW looks well-maintained and definitely worth it of the price.

Are you sure there's no index? I downloaded it (2020 Tour 6sp) from the Honda site and there is a searchable index that links to the page you click on.

Dealers make less than ten percent on a wing I’m told. So, will they give that away when demand outstrips supply? No.

I think you’ve been mislead. When I bought my ‘16 wing it was November and they dropped from the list pride of 24K plus to 20 grand. Thats a lot more than 10%. Like 20%

Well, then the dealer lied to me. Or maybe Honda kicked in a discount to move units.

Even if 10% WERE the correct commission, there are always year end "discounts" and promotions from Honda for total sales.

Maybe the best I can say is Honda dealers are not like Ford or Chevy dealers with artificially high selling prices they then discount heavily to appear like a "deal".

Or, no sellers of motor vehicles will reveal their profit margin ahead of a sale.

I am not privy to how dealers come up with the pricing. I do know that new vehicle bring less profit than used vehicles (as a rule). I was told this dealer did not want to store the wing over the winter and that “special” pricing was a short time deal and I grabbed it.

Factory Honda extended warranty is $1070 for 5 years after original 3 years. Supposed to be able to buy it anytime before the original 3 year warranty runs out. That is only like 2hrs of shop labor a year.
