Highway pegs

Post by Yooperfella »

I bought a new '21 Goldwing DCT about 6 weeks ago and I love it. My only issue is the lack of accessories for it. Particularly highway pegs. Since it does not have crash bars, my options are limited and what is available is VERY expensive. I think $350 for a set of highway pegs is a bit much. Any suggestions out there?

The quality made American products from Rivco, Mick-O-Peg (made in your home state), National Cycle are certainly not cheap. But even the cheapo Chinese stuff from the big companies can run you a couple hundred. Just a matter or what parts you want to add to your brand new $30,000 motorcycle.

I've had my DCT for about 8 weeks but was on the Trap circuit for a few weeks so we've had them about the same time. I have installed a Utopia backrest and am in the process of adding a drive-on center stand. I have looked at he multitude of accessories available and suggest you look at Cyclemax.com. I had a pair of Rivco highway pegs on my 16 and if I ever decide to add them to the DCT I will go the same route. The DCT has a different valve cover than the '16 so they had to add a mounting bracket to reach the frame points. Your paying for the pegs and the mounting brackets. If you decide to go with fog lights, then be prepared to dump 750-800 bucks. IF you do, then you may as well add all the other options (power plug, etc) because you have to basically disassemble the whole front end. I will be putting some type of floor boards on mine eventually but I have decided to go mini or full.

So, did you think accessories for a 26 grand bike would be cheap? Since Covid, prices are up on everything.

Paying $750-800 for adding fog lights is ridiculous. About a year ago I installed fog lights myself on my 2018 on a budget. They look good, I keep them on all the time, they light up the road great and a year later they still work perfectly. Here is the thread https://www.goldwingowners.com/threads/ ... st-2255153
