2022 wing specs
2022 wing specs
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2021 tour airbag. But I am wondering what if anything new is coming for the 2022 model year. My current ride (2013) is in great shape but it’s hard to find a 2021 airbag model and if there are no changes coming up I’d have the new bike sooner rather than later. Can’t find anything online about the 2022 model year though. What do you all know?

Re: 2022 wing specs
With all the changes for 2021, I wouldn't expect much besides the typical color options to change. There are rumors and patents for adaptive cruise control, but no word on if 2022 will be the year for it.

"CLUTCH SANDALS
We have provided our manual-transmission Gold Wing’s clutch sandals, like our premium sportbike. "
I would say this is a slipper clutch.
Or maybe they are promoting new footwear for GoldWing riders?

Re: 2022 wing specs
that was the most awkward written article I have ever read.
Re: 2022 wing specs
Yup, strange article but no changes from 2021 I can detect.

It's a pretty bad cut-and-paste job too, because later in the article it just falls into first person mode with "we" and "our".
I especially like the "solid tail red lights".

I've been seeing this kind of bad writing more and more on the internet, and in printed media lately.
They hire people who can barely write.
It's a sad comment on the state of our education system.
And then there are those that butcher the English language.
"My bike needs fixed". Huh? Your bike needs WHAT?
Hey, I only went to high school. If I can do it, they can do it.
Ok, that's enough. I'm getting pissed just thinking about it.

Picking up my new bike tomorrow - had to drive about 1000 miles to find and get it. So psyched. The airbag models are impossible to find, unless you are willing to go way out of your way to pick one up. But here I am, just hours away from eternal bliss

My dealer says the 2022 Tour DCT Airbag will be blue. Hopefully the gorgeous blue now in Europe. Last week was his required order for units. He will reserve a unit for $1,000 deposit, refundable. This is the way to cover yourself. There will not be enough built again to let dealers stock them.

The specs for the new 2022 Goldwing have been released.
As expected, the only changes are some new paint colors.
The manual transmission Goldwing Tour gets a new Gunmetal Black Metallic, with a blacked-out engine:
The DCT Airbag Tour gets two new colors - Ultra Blue Metallic and Pearl Glare White:
The standard non-Tour Goldwing gets a blue color - the Honda press release calls it "Mat Jeans Blue Metallic" but the Honda web site calls it "Matte Nightshade Blue":

Re: 2022 wing specs
Yes, my dealer confirmed that only the color changed. He said they might have improved some gps electrical or computer stuff but he found no new stuff was announced.
I’m hoping for serial number 00001 for Canada.
Delivery to my dealer is by the first week in December.
Luckily the current poor shape of international shipping has not impacted that.
Can anyone comment on the heated seat being suitable for a Florida run from Canada?

Re: 2022 wing specs
2022 is very disappointing from one aspect...
FINALLY GIVE US BACK THE LUGGAGE CAPACITY OF THE GL1500!!! "BOXY" AND SPACIOUS, NOT SPORTY AND LACKING, TRULY IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY FOR LONG HAUL RIDERS!!!
If Honda's so concerned about a "sporty look" on Goldwings, then keep the materially less haul capacity Goldwing -- but simply come out with a new variant. Call it the "LH" version for we riders who go cross country...and need all the luggage compartment storage capacity we can get (for not only clothes and drink/snack items...but safety equipment and supplies)!
Although it would be little additional cost to Honda to bolt on these three compartments, I'm sure they could ask for more money to do it. So COME ON, Honda! Get with the program. It's the only thing keeping me on my 1990 GL1500A Trike...

Re: 2022 wing specs
Someone mentioned earlier about them changing the taillight color to all red in 2021 and liked it. Well, I for one don't like it, I have a 2021 Tour and went out and found some 2018 taillights and switched mine out for the Amber turn signals. Reason is, I added the modulating brake module to mine to catch people attention while braking. I had many fellow riders say that with so much flashing going on can't tell what is turn signal or just brake flash. After changing back to amber, I think they POP better being amber and now you can see the amber over the red brake lights. Amber is a brighter light/color over the red and aren't we wanting to be seen while out there?

Re: 2022 wing specs
I absolutely agree with you. I believe that amber rear turn signals are a safer choice (not that anything is absolute). Not that I am ready to buy a 2022, good to know they are a simple changeout.1nomad wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 7:46 am Someone mentioned earlier about them changing the taillight color to all red in 2021 and liked it.
