Missing Nav Screen

Post by PaulGriff »

Hello all

New member from Western Australia. Just taken delivery of a late November 2019 GL1800 airbag DCT, after waiting six weeks for delivery across Australia (Covid restrictions and transport demand).

Question: When I turn on the ignition, I only see 4 icons on the home screen, not 6. I imagine I will have to pair headset and phone to see the iPhone icon, but any reason why I don’t have the navigation icon displayed? I have read the owners manuals, but can’t understand why this is missing.

First GoldWing, after many BMWs, and love it. Photos to follow (bike only arrived today).

Thanks everyone

Paul

Just a guess, but perhaps you don't have any maps loaded?

Thanks, Rambozo
I think they should be pre-loaded. I bought the bike from a non-Honda dealer. Has 4,500kms on it. I will try to contact PO.

Issue now resolved. The Australian Goldwings did not come with a stand alone navigation package. So, I need to pair my headset and phone and use Google maps. Thanks

My son is going to enjoy it for many years to come.

that is now how I am having to do, since I gave my 1800 to my son down in Georgia, USA.

I am now riding my backup 'bike', a Piaggio MP3 250cc scooter, and it is totally devoid of any communications system.

So, I bought a Sena 50S helmet intercom and paired it with my cellphone.
the result is so awesome, I wonder why it took me so long to do it.

if I utter "Take me to Wild West BBQ"

I hear a voice in my ear saying "Okay, turn left at 9th street and continue ............. "
