Rear Seat Travel Bag options

Post by danooooo »

I bought a Saddlemen BR3400 to travel with on my 2018 Goldwing since someone in the forums recommended it. Unfortunately I didn't take in account I had replaced the stock seat with the Ultimate TallBoy which moves you back 1 1/2 inches so I couldn't use the backrest.

Anyone have a different bag that allows using the bikes backrest and fits better? Thanks for the opinions.
Best,
Dan

I have the Ultimate seat on my bike, and found that a soft sided back rack bag fits nicely in the passenger slot with the two extensions just allowing the back rest to nestle in between them. I do not even have to lash it down, although I do, to keep someone from just walking off with it.

The Kuryakyn 5281 is similar to what I have, although mine is a bit taller. Where the Kury is only nine inches tall, mine is twelve.

Thanks Viking, for the comment. What is your 12" bag make or model? That's an interesting idea to use a truck rack bag for the rear seat. Thank you!

I cannot tell you. It is likely a Show Chrome or Big Bike product. I pulled it out and looked it over pretty well, but could not find a name on it anywhere. It was also not as expensive as the Kuryakyn one that I mentioned. Under a hundred bucks IIRC, I have had it for ten or so years.
