I've read several topics on battery maintenance and it's very clear which brand of chargers you guys prefer (not to name Battery Tender). However, here in Europe, it's not for sale. As far as I can see there is no European version available. The go to brand over here seems to be Tecmate's Optimate line of products.
One of the models is the OptiMate 4 CAN-BUS Edition. It comes with a (imho) very nifty connector which seems to have all kind of names like SAE-77, bike din plug, Hella DIN plug, mini sigarette plug, BMW plug and some others.
This system seems to be available on many BMW bikes since 2006 and is apparently connected to their canbus system.
Now, I was thinking that, since my 2021 GL1800 also has a canbus, it should be possible to use it on Goldwing too. So here's the big question:
How can I connect a socket like Tecmate TM-O-08s to my GL1800's canbus system? Or should I rather connect it directly to the acc connectors in the fuse box? Or should I connect it to my PathfinderL.E.D. Power Accessory Hub?
