Can anyone tell me what I’ve done wrong here?
Everything works except the hazards when plugged into the bike. Oh, and when I turn on the right or left signal, the other blinks very, very faintly, but probably noticeable enough at night to be a little confusing for those following. The hazards do work if I apply the brakes with the hazard switch on.
When plugged into the car, everything works as it should, telling me I’ve done something wrong when wiring the bike.
I have installed a wiring isolator and it’s showing a green light when powered, indicating that it’s installed correctly. I’ve also installed a GW00738 sub harness and a 5 to 4 wire adapter. My trailer is 5 wire but with a 4 pin connector.
I’ve looked at this over and over and can’t see where I went wrong. I’m thinking possibly a ground issue. Look at my photo carefully and see if something jumps out at you.
My hand is holding the wires from the isolator to the 5 to 4 wire adapter. To the right are the 4 wires to the trailer.
The bottom three wires on the isolator are not in use and I’ve capped them.
Thanks.

Re: Wiring dilemma
Your profile lists a 2013 F6B but you posted in the 2018+ forum. The sub harness you list is the RIVCO plug and play for 2018+ models. Correct? Is the isolator also the RIVCO unit (TWC004)? Why have you not used all the isolator connections?
The RIVCO isolator instructions say:
NOTE! The isolator is designed for trailers with a five-wire system, which, like the motorcycle will have
separate turn signal bulbs. If the trailer you will be towing has a four-wire system (combined brake and stop
lights) you will also need to add a five-to-four wire convertor in line before the isolator (not supplied) RIVCO
pt# VCC007-51 which will plug into the isolator.

Re: Wiring dilemma
Thanks, Andy.
I forgot to mention that this is a 2021 GW Tour DCT.
I never thought to check my profile before posting. I’ll have to update that.
The sub harness is the one recommended by Rivco; the isolator is a Pathfinder LED. I haven’t used all the wires coming out of the isolator because two are for additional accessories that I don’t have at this time and one is an additional ground for additional accessories. The isolator is grounded to the negative battery terminal and the trailer harness is grounded to the bike frame.
I’ve written Cruiseman of Cruiseman’s Garage for his input, as he has done extensive accessory wiring, including trailer wiring on his 2018 Wing. He has used all the same wiring accessories as I have except for the 5 to 4 wire converter. I believe his trailer is a 5 wire. No response yet.
Oh, and I have used a United Pacific 5 to 4 wire converter, in line before the isolator. I’m going to pull the seat off tomorrow and check a ground that I’m having doubts about. Hopefully I can get this sorted out.
