Paint protection (i.e. Venture Shield) for 2018+ Gold Wing?

Hi all,

I have just put down a deposit on a 2020 DCT Tour Airbag. Dealer indicates 18th August delivery date.
I'd like to protect the paintwork with some plastic film coating, such as 3M Venture Shield.
Particularly the side panniers (to protect against scuffing when I swing my ageing leg over the saddle) and the tank cover (where my knees will be).
I've had a browse around and can't seem to find a kit for these models. Moreover, the kits that I saw didn't include for panniers on the bikes that have panniers.

Years ago (2016) I had a BMW R1200RT LC that came with Venture Shield fitted by the previous owner. I was so pleased, because I caught the panniers with my boot a couple of times, but the protective film did its job.
So, I'd like to protect my new-to-me Wing at least as well as that.

Does anyone have any information that may help, please?

So have it installed. There are plenty of shops that do that sort of thing.

You don't need a model/type specific kit. Just take it to a shop that does this kind of PPF film installation, they will cut and stretch it to fit.

Further investigation has revealed a couple of alternatives to the 3M Venture Shield (the only one I had prior experience of).
One of these is Xpel.
There is a firm near me that does Xpel film paint protection, so I'll be contacting them shortly.
I don't fancy buying a roll of film and trying to cut it to shape and fitting it myself. I think it would be difficult to cut accurately for the complex shapes and difficult to apply without ending up with a load of trapped air bubbles. Then, it would look rubbish.

I agree - this is not a DIY kind of thing. I might attempt a nice, straight, flat piece like a car hood, but no way I would try a compound-curve item like a motorcycle as my first attempt.

I use ceramic coating, protects and gives it a deep shine. Easy application, use it all everything, even wind shield. Then use ceramic detailer to clean, no water or cleaners.

I also use ceramic coating, easy to clean and protect against love bugs down here in Florida.

I have XPEL on my 2018. They have template for the front. Tankslappers has template for the entire bike. Use a professional to install, don't try this at home. It is excruciatingly hard.
